Storage Slade Green Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement is made by Storage Slade Green in recognition of our responsibility to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. We are committed to acting ethically, transparently, and with integrity in all business relationships, and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure that modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in our organisation or among our suppliers.
Our Zero-Tolerance Approach
Storage Slade Green has a strict zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, child labour, servitude, and all forms of exploitation. This applies to all individuals working for or with us at any level, including employees, agency workers, contractors, consultants, volunteers, business partners, and suppliers.
No form of modern slavery will be accepted or justified on commercial, operational, or cultural grounds. Where we identify a risk or instance of non-compliance with our standards, we will take decisive action, which may include suspension or termination of contracts, reporting to relevant authorities, and supporting remediation for affected individuals where possible.
Our Supply Chain and Supplier Expectations
Our supply chain includes providers of storage-related equipment, facilities management, maintenance, cleaning, security, and professional services. We expect all suppliers to uphold the same high standards that we set for ourselves and to comply with all applicable laws relating to modern slavery and human rights in the jurisdictions in which they operate.
We communicate our expectations clearly to suppliers and require them to confirm that they have appropriate policies, controls, and due diligence processes in place to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking. We reserve the right to request evidence of these measures and to consider modern slavery performance in supplier selection, renewal, and performance reviews.
Supplier Audits and Due Diligence
Storage Slade Green is enhancing its supplier due diligence processes to better identify, assess, and manage the risk of modern slavery. This includes initial screening of new suppliers and proportionate ongoing monitoring of existing suppliers based on risk factors such as country of operation, industry sector, and type of service or goods supplied.
We carry out supplier assessments that may include requesting documentation, reviewing policies and training records, and where appropriate, conducting site visits or audits. If concerns arise, we will work collaboratively with suppliers to address issues and improve standards. Where serious or persistent non-compliance is identified, we may choose to discontinue the relationship.
Reporting Concerns and Speaking Up
We encourage all employees, suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders to report any concerns or suspicions about modern slavery or unethical practices connected with our business or supply chain. No concern is too small to raise, and all reports will be taken seriously.
Reports can be made through our internal reporting channels or to senior management. Individuals are encouraged to share as much detail as possible to allow for a thorough investigation. We are committed to protecting anyone who raises a concern in good faith, and we do not tolerate any form of retaliation or victimisation against whistleblowers.
Training, Awareness, and Responsibilities
Storage Slade Green is working to increase awareness of modern slavery risks among staff whose roles involve procurement, supplier management, or facilities operations. Relevant employees are informed about the signs of modern slavery and the steps to take if they have concerns.
Managers are responsible for ensuring that their teams understand and comply with this statement and any associated policies. The leadership team is accountable for overseeing our approach to modern slavery and for promoting a culture of integrity and respect for human rights.
Monitoring, Review, and Continuous Improvement
We recognise that tackling modern slavery is an ongoing process that requires continuous improvement. We will review this Modern Slavery Statement at least annually to reflect changes in our business, legal requirements, industry best practice, and the outcomes of our own risk assessments and audits.
As part of the annual review, we will evaluate the effectiveness of our policies, training, and supplier due diligence measures, and we will identify areas for enhancement. Any updates to our approach will be communicated internally and to relevant external stakeholders as appropriate.
This statement has been approved by the leadership of Storage Slade Green and represents our current position and ongoing commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains.
